Photo Retouch

Remove Object

  1. palette -> Choose a selection tool
  2. Turn the feather of the selection tool up (e.g. to 1px), with Anti-aliasing
  3. select on a similar/nearby area
  4. Ctrl + Alt + move the selected area to cover the object

Face

Remove Red Eyes
  1. Zoom into the eyes
  2. palette -> Edit in Quick Mask Mode (Q)
  3. palette -> brush (round, slightly smaller than the pupil) -> paint to cover the red pupil
  4. palette -> Edit in Standard Mode -> Select Inverse -> pupil selected
  5. Image -> Adjustments -> Desaturate
  6. Image -> Adjustments -> Levels -> Move highlight down, midtone up


Whiten Teeth
  1. palette -> quick mask mode -> mask select the teeth -> Inverse Selection
  2. Select -> Modify -> Feather -> Set feather radius = 2px, say
  3. Image -> Adjustments -> Hue/Saturation -> lower the saturation
  4. Image -> Adjustments -> Levels -> move the white point to left


Remove Skin Blemishes
  1. palette -> healing brush tool
    • Alt to sample
    • Click and hold down the mouse to spray


Pro Mist 磨皮
  1. Copy the Layer
  2. Image -> Mode -> CMYK Color -> Don't Flatten (To get the black curve)
  3. Image -> Adjustments -> Curves -> Channel:Black -> Push the curve up
  4. Image -> Mode -> RGB Color -> Don't Flatten
  5. Filter -> Blur -> Gaussian Blur -> Radius ~ 6px
  6. Layers panel -> Overlay = Screen
  7. Layers panel -> Reduce the fill a littlebit

Colour

Remove Colour Cast
  1. Image -> Adjustments -> Levels
  2. There are three droppers, from left to right are: black point, grey point, white point.
    • Use white dropper to pick the brightest point in the photo
    • Use grey dropper to pick a midtone point in the photo
    • Use black dropper to pick the darkest point in the photo
Retouch Under-exposed Photos
  1. Image -> Adjustments -> Shadow/Highlights
(Levels or Brightness/Highlight affects both the fore and the background, yet Shadow/Highlight allows you to adjust only the background or the foreground)

Others

Add Signature
  1. palette -> eye dropper -> measure tool -> line up to the bottom of the signature
  2. Image -> Rotate Canvas -> Arbitrary
  3. signature layer -> select all -> copy
  4. channels panel -> create new channel -> paste the signature to the channel
  5. Image -> adjustment -> invert (the channel)
  6. Image -> adjustment -> level -> move bright up and dark down to enhance the signature
  7. Layer palette -> create New Layer
  8. Select -> Load Selection -> Channel -> Alpha1 -> OK
  9. Edit -> Fill -> White
